Fitting the landscape

Combining the best of the pool and pond worlds, this project offered Michael Inzerillo an opportunity to enhance the landscape’s natural beauty.

When the crew arrived on site, they had to contend with a grade of approximately eight feet that sloped down from the tree line into the grassier areas of the yard. A more significant renovation was the strategic removal of trees from portions of the yard. This allowed the yard to be bathed in sunlight during certain hours of the day, while leaving enough trees in place to keep the secluded woodsy atmosphere intact.

“We narrowed down the time frame when the client would be using the backyard,” explains Inzerillo, vice president of Swimming Pools by Jack Anthony in Center Moriches, N.Y. “And we created an umbrella of sunlight to accommodate just that time period.”
