Designing energy efficient pools

Keep it clean: This curve demonstrates the toll of higher system pressure. Curve A’s system has more feet of head than Curve C (47 versus 37), so it will use 20 percent more energy. The even higher pressure on Curve B will require 45 percent more energy.

Energy-saving pads: Small adjustments in the equipment pad can spell savings for customers. In addition to the use of variable speed pumps, cleaned-up plumbing, the bypassing of heaters and chemical feeders, and the use of automation can result in lower energy bills.
