Guanacaste, Costa Rica, is known as a tropical paradise with a pristine shoreline, beautiful mountains and volcanoes. Nearly 300 Watkins dealers were able to enjoy an all-expenses-paid vacation there recently, courtesy of the hot tub manufacturer.
The Tropical Wonderland incentive trip, as it was called, took them to the exotic locale, where they stayed at the JW Marriott and were treated to a first-class getaway. Activities that week included zip-lining through the rain forest, hiking in the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, deep-sea fishing and boating through Palo Verde National Park.
The dealers and their guests also got the opportunity to give back to the local community by participating in the Watkins Bike Building Bonanza. It involved assembling and donating 83 children’s bicycles to Escuela Santa Rosa, a school in a nearby town. Students also came out and helped decorate their bikes.
This incentive trip for qualifying dealers ended with the Rainforest Farewell, consisting of a reception followed by dinner, entertainment and dancing.
“We are delighted to share this Costa Rica experience with our dealer family to thank them for their amazing accomplishments in 2014,” said Mike Dunn, executive vice president of Watkins Manufacturing, the Vista, Calif.-based manufacturer of portable spas. “They did an outstanding job and we are grateful for their efforts.”
Next year’s incentive trip destination will be Marbella, Spain, in February to celebrate Fiesta del Sol and experience all that the region has to offer.
