Apparently, symptoms of cabin fever include a strong desire to take a dip in a pool.
According to a nationwide survey sponsored by the Water Quality & Health Council's Healthy Pools program, one in three Americans said this year's particularly brutal winter caused severe cabin fever. Survey samples from the Northeast and Midwest, which took the brunt of Old Man Winter's fury, show that more than half of respondents experienced similar bouts of restlessness.
The survey, conducted by market research firm Ipsos, found that 37 percent of folks plan to relieve their wintertime blues by going for a swim. That makes swimming the most popular way to enjoy the now-warmer climes, followed by gardening, hiking, biking and camping.
