In recent years, there's been a lot of talk about the efficacy and legitimacy of certain online review and lead generation sites, such as Yelp and Angie's List. For many pool and spa professionals, these sites have done more to hurt their businesses, with consumers (and often competitors) given free reign to post whatever comments they choose about a firm's work.

Replacement Contractor contributor Mike Damora may have found a solution that could work in the industry's favor. In his latest column, he introduces readers to Home Advisor, formerly Service Magic, which apprently is doing everything right that Angie’s List isn't.

"The company seems poised to compete with Angie’s List, writes Damora. "Whomever reinvented the company has taken the best of both worlds — Angie and the old lead generation companies — and combined them."
