A swimming pool and spa retailer in New York is celebrating a major milestone.
Niagara Falls-based Saraceni Pools & Spas turns 30 in June, according to the Niagara-Wheatfield Tribune.
Dennis and Patty Conti started the family-owned business in 1984 and took over the facility in 1985. But Dennis' roots in the pool industry date back to a time when he sold swimming pools in Arizona, before relocating back to Niagara Falls and opening his own company.
He recalls how the company got started:
"There was a chain of drug stores in Niagara Falls, about three or four - a small chain, but they also sold other stuff in the drug store, and pool supplies was one of them," he told the news outlet. "So they had closed down ... so we opened back up as pool supplies only, thinking we were going to change the name in a couple years, and we never did, and here we are, 30 years later."
