The West Sacramento, Calif. City Council has banned the filling and refilling of pools, so industry officials want to make a showing at its meeting this week. The California Pool & Spa Association is seeking as many professionals to attend the meeting and offer public comments this Wednesday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m.
"If enough industry representatives present their case, the Council will have no option but to place this item on the proceeding council agenda," said CPSA in a press release. "By doing so, the pool industry can spark conversation and publicly share the facts about water savings that swimming pools provide."
Several cities in the Golden State are considering such measures as they seek to meet conservation goals issued by the state. Those that have historically used more water are mandated to cut more.
The meeting takes place at the West Sacramento Civic Center. Those wishing to speak must show up before the meeting begins so they can fill out a speaker card. Those seeking more information can contact CPSA at (916)447-4113. The organization can provide information materials to help speakers prepare.
