Dee Adcock isn't in it for the money.

If elected to Congress, the president of pool equipment distributor W.W. Adcock promises he'll donate his House salary to charitable organizations in his district.

"My hope is that this example of personal action will let people know that I'm one of them, that I'm running for office for the right reasons, to serve others rather than to serve myself," said Adcock during a press conference. (See YouTube video.)

Adcock is the Republican nominee for the 13th congressional district, which covers parts of Northeast Philadelphia and Montgomery County. This is his second time running for the seat, which was vacated by U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, his political opponent in 2010.

This time around, Adcock, who owns the Huntingdon Valley, Pa. distribution company with his brother, Dale, is positioning himself as "a local businessman with a cause."
