Primitive field stone provides the dominant color and texture for this two-level design from Master Pools by Artistic Pools of Atlanta. A stone retaining wall sets off an upper patio, which includes a spa and Mexican chiminea with hearth. An opening in the spa allows water to spill down to the second level’s custom freeform pool. More stone makes up the pool’s retaining wall, coping and deck. A planting of grasses surrounding a Japanese maple tree, set into one of the pool’s curves, provides a soft accent.
