Gary Thill began his journalism career at a daily newspaper in Bend, Ore. Entering as a “sub entry-level” public records collector, Gary left the paper as an award-winning investigative reporter, going on to earn a Master’s degree in Journalism at the University of Oregon. Today, he’s the interactive director for Pool & Spa News and Aquatics International. Working from Portland, Ore., he manages the brands’ Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social media accounts including the award-winning AI Connect. He’s responsible for five e-newsletters as well as digital content and virtual events. Previously, Gary served as editor of Aquatics International from 2003 to 2012. In 2011, he was honored with the prestigious Timothy White Award for Editorial Integrity from American Business Media. Prior to that, he served in a variety of capacities at Pool & Spa News, including features editor, news editor and managing editor. Gary blogs about issues that intersect with the commercial and residential pool markets.
