Three industry veterans share their secrets for creating perfect perimeter slot-overflow pools.

over more than 100 feet of edge — and drop it into a narrow slot
surrounding the pool. Water then falls into a gutter through gravity-
feed lines to a remote holding tank.

“Building perimeter-overflow pools makes infinity-edge installations look like child’s play,” says Randy Beard, co-owner of Pure Water Pools in Costa Mesa, Calif. That’s why he adds at least $20,000 to any project that spills over the perimeter.

Several high-end builders have perfected their own custom systems. “I’ve got more
versatility with the shape and design by forming my own gutter and lip,” says David Schneider, president of Natures Creations in Santa Fe, N.M.
