Council Expands 'Pool People USA' Budget

The National Spa & Pool Institute’s Manufacturers Council has agreed to expand its 2003 budget for Pool Pro Alliance’s “Pool People USA” promotional campaign to $359,000. The campaign features banner ads on America Online, poolandspa.com, Google and Yahoo.

When visitors click on the ad, it sends them to the Web site poolpeopleusa.com, where they’ll find pool builders and retailers. Surveys conducted on poolpeopleusa.com reveal that 44 percent of visitors to the Web site say they are “very likely” to buy a pool in the next 12 months.

Paragon Pools' Vassallo Aids Charity

Joe Vassallo, president of Paragon Pools, a custom pool builder in Las Vegas, helped host the local 2002 USA Weekend magazine “Make a Difference Day” charity event Oct. 26. A food drive to benefit the Las Vegas Chapter/Salvation Army Food Bank also was held.

Shown (L-R) are food drive volunteer David Vail, Vassallo, Real TV’s John Daly and ex-Raider Napoleon McCallum. Vassallo and other sponsors spent the day accepting donations. This is the second year Vassallo’s company has been a sponsor. At final count, donations filled 88 food boxes for distribution to less-fortunate families. “I have a successful business because of the community,” Vassallo said. “It’s always a good feeling to give back. It’s very heart-warming and comforting.”
